Make your own Phonics Flip Book

Now you can make your own phonics flip book.  This is a great little free printable and SO useful as it makes over 150 Consonant Vowel Consonant Words - CVC!  It basically consists of three piles of letters that can 'be flipped' to make words.

I use this resource to give practice with

• initial alphabet sounds

• ending sounds

• vowels

• phonograms

• making three letter words

• rhyming words

Here is a little chart to show you how you can use it:

Words that rhyme by changing the First letter	Words you can make by changing the Middle Letter	Words you can make by Changing the Last Letter
bat	bat	bat
cat	bet	bap
sat	bit	ban
mat	bot	bad
fat	but	bag

I used a binder machine so that the letters could be flipped easily - but you could use stationary rings if you are still waiting for someone to buy you a binding machine (go put it on your teacher wish list NOW...!!)

Caleb loves to play with this and it really builds his confidence as he 'discovers' how to spell new words all by himself!!  How cool is THAT!
